Polo Vista is a coffee table book made to document a heritage home belonging to a senior officer of the Southern Command of the Indian Army. The house has a long history and the kind of accumulated detail that rewards slow, careful photography.
My approach was to treat it as an architectural and domestic record: rooms, objects, gardens, and the particular quality of a house that has been genuinely lived in across different eras. Old homes like this carry a lot, and I wanted the photographs to hold that rather than flatten it into something polished. The brief was to produce a lasting record of the property, and I tried to make something the family would actually want to return to.
The book was produced as a private commission.
